“The Meaning of Forgiveness” - The Faith I Live By, 129.3
God's forgiveness is not merely a judicial act by which He sets us free from condemnation. It is not only forgiveness for sin but reclaiming from sin. David had the true conception of forgiveness when he prayed, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10. If you take even one step toward Him in repentance, He will hasten to enfold you in His arms of infinite love. His ear is open to the cry of the contrite soul. Never a prayer is offered, however faltering, never a tear is shed, however secret, never a sincere desire after God is cherished, however feeble, but the Spirit of God goes forth to meet it. Even before the prayer is uttered or the yearning of the heart made known, grace from Christ goes forth to meet the grace that is working upon the human soul. - Pastor Noel Nadado
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:11. {HP 219.1} Let parents study the first chapter of the Second Epistle of Peter. Here is represented the exalted excellence of Bible truth. It teaches that the Christian’s experience is to be one of steady growth, of constant gain in graces and virtues that will give strength to the character and fit the soul for eternal life.... {HP 219.2} It is the privilege of parents and children to grow together in the grace of Christ. Those who comply with the conditions laid down in the Word will find full provision for their spiritual needs and for power to overcome.... The Lord expects parents to make earnest united efforts in the training of their children for Him. In the home they are to cultivate the graces of the Spirit, in all their ways acknowledging Him who through the sanctification of the Spirit has promised to make us perfect in every good work.... {HP 219.3} Shall the people who have a solemn message to bear for the enlightenment and salvation of the world, make little or no effort for the members of their own family who are unconverted to the truth? Will parents allow their minds to be engrossed with trifling matters to the neglect of the all-important question, “Is my family prepared to meet the Lord?” Will they assent to the great truths that are present truth for these last days, and be interested to see this message going to other peoples and lands, while they allow their children, their most precious possession, to go on unwarned of their danger and unprepared for the future? Shall those who, from the Word of God and through the witness of His Spirit, have had clear light concerning their duty allow the years to pass without making definite efforts to save their children? {HP 219.4} Christ is waiting for the cooperation of human agencies, that He may impress the hearts of our children and youth. With intense desire heavenly beings long to see parents making that preparation which is essential if they and their children stand loyal to God in the coming conflict, and enter in through the gates to the city of God.42 {HP 219.5}
Visiting a new church for the first time can be overwhelming, especially if you did not grow up attending church. Sometimes church can seem like a closed society, and unless you know the unwritten rules you will feel awkward about showing up. Questions arise such as where do I park? What door do I go in? What kind of clothes should I wear? When am I supposed to kneel or stand? Which class do I take my kids to? Is this a safe place?.....
At SDA church Doha we want to take all the fear and uncertainty out of attending church. Church should be an enjoyable experience, not a painful one. So we want our guests and first time visitors to know that at SDA church Doha you will find a loving and accepting church, where you are welcome to come just as you are.
We have Bible classes for all ages from infants to adults. Just ask one of the greeters in the main foyer and they will help you find the right class. Because people are diverse, so too is our congregation of about 350. We have all age and ethnic groups represented. We do not focus on any one demographic but try to make SDA Doha Church a safe place for worship and fellowship for all people and all ages. Our worship service reflects this diversity also.
We have a children’s story during the service as one way to minister to our children. The sermons are Bible based, practical and relevant. Every Sabbath, we have a fellowship meal after church service, and a couple of times a year we have big social events that allow us to get together for fun outside of the church. When you visit, do not be surprised if people try to learn your name. One of our big values at SDA Doha is making connections.
Our Church is a Seventh-day Adventist congregation but welcomes everyone. Whether you are a lifelong Adventist or just brand new to Christianity, or if you are an atheist or spiritual seeker, it makes no difference. Jesus welcomed all people into His presence and we do the same.
